Lend A Pup

Our mommy has been pretty sad recently thinking about our sister Nanook. So our daddy found this poem for her. She really liked it and it made her cry.. which I would think would be bad. But apparently she loves it. So Tristin and I thought we would share it for everyone who have ever lost a loved companion. I hope it brings as much joy to others as it has our mommy and daddy.

Lend A Pup

I will lend to you for a while, a pup, God said,
For you to love him while he lives and mourn for him when he's dead.
Maybe for twelve or fourteen years, or maybe two or three
But will you, 'til I call him back, take care of him for me.
He'll bring his charms to gladden you and (should his stay be brief)
you'll always have his memories as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return
But there are lessons taught below I want this pup to learn.

I've looked the whole world over in search of teachers true
And from the folk that crowd life's land I have chosen you.
Now will you give him all your love nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate me when I come to take my Pup back again.

I fancied that I heard them say "Dear Lord Thy Will be Done,"
For all the joys this Pup will bring, the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness, we'll love him while we may
And for the happiness we've known forever grateful stay

But should you call him back much sooner than we've planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes, and try to understand.
If, by our love, we've managed, your wishes to achieve
In memory of him we loved, to help us while we grieve.

When our faithful bundle departs this world of strife,
We'll have yet another Pup and love him all his life.

Hike N Howl 2nd request

Hi everypup guy and gal,
Sorry I haven't posted anything of importance in forever but things have been super busy around here. Mom and Dad are doing this thing with rescue called the 1st annual Hike N Howl. I know we posted about it once already but for those of you who don't know..

If your wondering what that is... Well it's a benefit event to help support the dogs assisted by the three groups of The Alliance of Northern Breed Rescues.

The Alliance of Northern Breed Rescues is Delaware Valley Siberian Husky Rescue, MaPaw Siberian Husky Rescue and Referral, and Harnessed to Hope Northern Breed Rescues. The three groups have pulled together for a monumental benefit hike on Saturday, September 1st 2007, at the Norristown Farm Park in Norristown, PA. It is going to be a BLAST!!!!

Wondering who can come?... Well . . all well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome to participate in the hike! One dog per person. Even if you don't have a dog, you can come on out and enjoy the event, or hike in the memory of a loved one.

Wondering who's gonna be there?... Well.. we'll have food, vendors, rescue groups, games, prizes, educational workshops, and other cool things. Its a great chance for everyone to come out with their dogs and have a great time with other dog lovers while helping to save less fortunate dogs. Just to name a few.

So here I am begging for people to pledge for me and Tristin..again. . . We are hiking in our sister Nanooks name.... and for other dogs like us who need to find loving fur ever homes. To sponsor us please go to www.hikenhowl.com Then click on Pledge Information scroll down and find Quincy and Tristin and then sponsor us... PLEASE. We will do our best and hike as hard as we can for all the doggies out there who need loving homes. Thanks everyone for reading this. An thanks again for sponsoring us!!! We loveeee you!!!!

Husky hugs and kisses,

Quincy

House Hunting

Today is a good day I saw mom on the computer earlier today looking at houses. An I heard her telling dad that she wouldn't buy a house unless the yard was big enough for us and the kids. How awesome is that? Tristin and I are super excited. Mom also promised dad that she would get him his red and white husky he so badly wants. So we will finally have a sister. WOOOOO WOOOOO good times to come. So excited. . . can't wait.

Oh moms getting us diner so I will update everyone once I know more. Keep them paws crossed for us that they find something with a BIG YARD and lots of space.

Husky Mania part 1

Today was a busy day for me. My mommy isn't feeling too good. So Tristin and I have been spending a lot of time trying to make her feel better. She went to go see the doctor today and got medicine... FINALLY!!! So basically we had a play day. We got to spend most of the day playing out back.. . . HUSKY MANIA part 1......

What are you looking at?? Husky Mania takes a lot outta me. Look out for part 2 and more pics.....

Tristin right before we started Husky Mania....

Like I already said it takes a lot outta me...

Tristin obviously isn't as worn out as I am... Guess I need to not take it so easy on the old man next time. Mom says hes not an old man.. because there is only a few months between us but.. I say he is! An I rule this roost!!!

Hot Day

Today was another scorcher. . We spent the majority of the day in the air conditioned house. Which felt wonderful!! We did spend a decent amount of time outside playing too. I played in my pool for a while, have I mentioned how much I love my pool?

I wanted to thank everyone for their advice on getting Tristin in the pool. He is slowing inching his way to it. He still wont get in but he is now drinking out of it. Which is a start, right?? I really think by the end of summer he will be in the pool at least once. Indy's idea almost worked... I had him chasing me and he almost followed me in.

On another note mom went out and bought us a new brush. So she is brushing us like crazy stealing our hair. She just loves brushing us... you would think she don't have hair of her own to brush or something. What is it with these humans and liking to steal our hair. An then they have the nerve to give it to the birds for their nests... are they serious??? Talk about rude!!!

This heat really has me bushed so I am going to go back to napping like I have been doing most of the day. More tomorrow... and some new pics tomorrow too... I am charging moms batteries for her camera.

Present

Look at what mom bought us . . Yup that's right we finally got a pool of our own. I personally think she was trying to make up for leaving us at Aunt Bev's for the weekend. You see it seems her, dad, mom-mom, pop-pop and the two kids went to the boardwalk on Friday. So Thursday we went to Aunt Bev's and spent the night. We love it there and its always a blast but nothing compairs to home!! Sorry Aunt Bev but it don't!!

Anyways isn't our pool the coolest.. it's even blue . . just for us BOYS!!! I love it. . . Wish I could say the same for Tristin. He don't seem to interested in it yet. But he will learn!!

Here I am trying to get Tristin's attention to get him to come play with me in the pool. But he just wouldn't come play. That's alright tho I love it!!

I was in and out of the pool all day long. As you can tell by this picture. I highly suggest to those of you who don't have one throw and fit and destroy something until your humans buy you one!!

Mom took this picture of Tristin thinking he was heading for the pool. . . but she was wrong.

Mom couldn't get him into the pool so she took random pics of him playing in the yard. The knuckle-head wouldn't get in the pool. Don't ask me why because it was AWESOME!!!

Just another random picture of cute old me.

Here is a picture of dad putting Tristin in the pool thinking that if he got in it once he would like it and stay in it.

Here is the very next picture. . . how wrong he was. . . No sooner did dad let him go and OUT he went!!

Another picture of me. Again I was trying to convince Tristin how much fun our pool is. But he still wasn't buying it. Any suggestions on how to make him like it??

Mom just loves this picture of me. I overheard her telling dad this is me saying "Nah-Nah Tristin look how much fun I am having in the pool". So I put it up here because mom likes it.
